Summer Acting Course for Film & TV

6/11/2016

I'm delighted to announce a new acting course will be starting July 13th and running until August 31st - basically, two sessions of 4 weeks. The course will take place on Wednesday evenings between 6pm and 9pm. Location to be confirmed shortly...

I'm equally as delighted to tell you the class will be co-taught with Alexander Fennon (Woman in Gold, The Debt, Spitzendeckchen). Together, we will be running classes in German (Alexander) and English (me) at the same time in two different rooms - the idea being that  you get to perform multiple times and work on scenes in the two languages.

You can take a 4 weeks session, or 8 weeks at a discounted rate. For any other information or to sign up and reserve a place, get in touch through the contact link above, or click here.

I'm starting an 8 week course commencing January 29th - this will be on Fridays between 6pm and 9pm (with the exception of March 4th) - which will run until March 25th.

This course will again take place in the Amerlinghaus in Vienna's 7th district (Stiftgasse). So, if you are looking to hone your skills, beat the winter blues (and greys) and join a group which, for this session, will be focussing on tapping into your skills for using emotions in a scene, then get in touch to reserve a place and ask questions! The classes will be specific for Film and TV and will include a lot of on-camera work - therefore, class size will be limited.

I'm happy to announce that I'll be teaching a summer acting course here in Vienna in the culturally gorgeous Amerlinghaus (Stiftgasse 8) in the 7th district.

Classes will be starting in early July and spaces are limited - If you wish to participate, then please get in touch ASAP for more info and to reserve a spot. Click here to email.

Things that we will be covering:

★ How to Audition for Film & TV
As an actor you alone are responsible for your own success. No matter how talented you are, you need to know how to audition well. I will address the day-to-day business side of acting. You will learn what it takes to be a working actor.

★ How to breakdown a scene for an audition
You must create a performance for the casting director without props, sets, other actors (etc). Auditioning is a skill; the more you practise, the more confident you become.

★ Casting Room Etiquette
The difference between a pre-read vs. a producer session. It’s your time in the room, use it well.

★ Acting on camera
Learn how to tailor your audition for when it’s cast off of tape and A LOT of auditions now are ‘self tape’ submissions.

★ Cultivating a career
Know the genre you are auditioning for and learn how to approach the audition for each different type (e.g Comedy vs. Drama, Film vs. TV).

Contact: jeanettebroxmccarthy@gmail.com
When: Thursday evenings (To be confirmed)
Where: Amerlinghaus (Stiftgasse 8, Wien 1070)
Other: Participants will be given audition scenes to prepare and read in class

Advance booking essential.

CLASS TAUGHT BY: Jeanette Brox, a Los Angeles based actress with starring roles in 50+ television shows including MAJOR CRIMES, SCANDAL, CASTLE, NCIS LA, CSI, BONES, COLD CASE,  GREY'S ANATOMY, and ER. She was awarded Outstanding Performance at the Los Angeles Film Festival for her role in WILDERNESS SURVIVAL FOR GIRLS. This on-set experience combined with Jeanette’s own training as an actor gives her a unique insight into the dynamics of film and television acting.
